A little about me: My son and daughter are my greatest source of pride and joy. Our family grew recently with the marriage of my daughter to a fantastic guy I now get to call my son-in-law. I have been teaching for 17 years and started in the sixth grade. I've taught History, Math and English. The benefit of being a Junior High teacher is the offering of exploratory classes. These classes should be glimpses into possible career avenues or hobbies for students. Due to my love of creating food and consuming it, I started creating a foods exploratory 13 years ago. I wanted to expose students to the health benefits of good food and to teach them a few basic skills along the way. It has morphed into a full time curriculum with endless possibilities and a lot of fun interactive lessons.
Some people 'eat to live' and others 'live to eat'. I'm sure you can guess which one I am.
I agree with Julia Child - "People who love to eat are always the best people."
Placerita Junior High is proud to offer a variety of Culinary Arts classes to its students as part of the exploratory wheel.
